Torrescamara Group has signed a donation agreement in favor of the Spanish Railways Foundation for the financing of the edition of a new Greenways Guide, an ambitious and interesting project whose edition group will be in charge of Anaya Touring , that already made in 1997 an earlier guide of Greenways, of which more than 30,000 copies were sold.

This editorial project will consist of a two-volume paper edition, with all the content renewed and with information on some 70 routes of all the Autonomous Communities. It is planned to divide the itineraries into two volumes: the Greenways of the North and the Greenways of the South.

In the signing of the donation contract the companies Torrescamara, EMR and Logitrén Railway were represented. The support of these sponsoring companies will allow the Foundation to cover the costs of preparing all the work provided.

Since 1993, the Spanish Railways Foundation has been responsible for coordinating, energizing and promoting the Greenways State Program, old railway lines recovered as non-motorized itineraries to be traveled on foot or by bicycle. At present there are already more than 2,800 km distributed in 127 itineraries throughout the geography, as well as 115 railway buildings rehabilitated as ecotourism equipment.

The Greenways have great advantages: the attractive itineraries along the old routes of the disused railway allow you to enter an unusual nature; they are safe, easy and accessible routes for everyone, regardless of age or physical condition, suitable for families with children, youth, elderly and people with disabilities; they don't have motorized traffic; and generate sustainable rural development of the territories through which they run.
